Help us
protect what's real

We're a small, focused team building detection infrastructure for an era of synthetic media. If you care about truth and craft, and are driven by the intersection of art and technology, we'd like to hear from you.

How we work

Small team, hard problems

DeepSight operates more like a research lab than a startup. We value depth over velocity, rigor over hype, and shipping over talking about shipping. Everyone here has a direct line to the work and the autonomy to shape it.

We don't do sprints, standups, or performance theatre. We trust people to manage their own time, communicate proactively, and do work they're proud of. In return, we offer hard problems, talented colleagues, and the space to do your best work.

Compensation

Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and full benefits including health, dental, and vision.

Flexibility

Remote-first for most roles. No mandatory office days. We care about output, not hours logged.

Growth

Annual learning budget, conference attendance, and 20% time for independent research.

Detection & Response Engineer

Trust & SafetyRemote, US or San Francisco, CAFull-time

Design and implement detection pipelines that identify novel synthetic media techniques at scale. You’ll work at the intersection of adversarial ML and incident response—building systems that adapt as generation methods evolve, triaging emerging threats, and ensuring our detection infrastructure remains resilient under real-world conditions.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain real-time detection pipelines processing millions of images daily
  • Develop automated response workflows for newly identified synthetic media patterns
  • Collaborate with the research team to operationalize new detection models
  • Conduct adversarial testing against our own systems to identify blind spots
  • Contribute to internal tooling for threat intelligence and pattern analysis

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years in security engineering, detection engineering, or applied ML infrastructure
  • Experience with image processing pipelines and computer vision fundamentals
  • Proficiency in Python and at least one systems language (Rust, Go, C++)
  • Familiarity with adversarial machine learning concepts
  • Strong analytical mindset and comfort operating under ambiguity

Software Engineer, Core Product

EngineeringSan Francisco, CAFull-time

Own and evolve the core product experience—from our web-based analysis tool to the API that powers thousands of integrations. You’ll ship features used by journalists, researchers, and platform trust teams worldwide, working across the full stack with a bias toward craft, performance, and clarity.

What you'll do

  • Design and build user-facing features across the detection platform and API
  • Improve performance, reliability, and developer experience of our public API
  • Work closely with design to implement interfaces that make complex analysis accessible
  • Write clean, well-tested code with an emphasis on long-term maintainability
  • Participate in architecture decisions and shape the technical direction of the product

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong full-stack skills: TypeScript/React on the frontend, Node.js or Python on the backend
  • Experience designing and maintaining production APIs at scale
  • An eye for detail in UI/UX and a commitment to accessible, performant interfaces
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with minimal hand-holding

Research Engineer

ResearchRemote, US or San Francisco, CAFull-time

Push the boundary of what’s detectable. You’ll develop novel approaches to synthetic media detection, working with state-of-the-art generative and discriminative models. This role bridges research and production—you’ll prototype new methods, run experiments, and help translate findings into systems that operate at scale.

What you'll do

  • Research and develop new detection methods for AI-generated and manipulated media
  • Design and execute experiments to evaluate model performance across diverse datasets
  • Stay current with advances in generative AI and identify implications for detection
  • Publish findings and contribute to the broader research community where appropriate
  • Collaborate with engineering to deploy research prototypes into production systems

What we're looking for

  • MS or PhD in computer science, machine learning, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong publication record or demonstrated research impact in computer vision, generative models, or media forensics
  • Proficiency in PyTorch or JAX with experience training and evaluating large models
  • Ability to work independently, set research direction, and communicate findings clearly
  • A genuine interest in the societal implications of synthetic media
